Contextualization
Contextualization refers to the strategic adjustment of content to specific use-case scenarios, target groups, or sales channels. In Product Information Management, this means the following: Depending on the channel and target group (such as B2B web shop, B2C marketplace, or print catalog) relevant data is selected, adjusted, and exported. A PIM system is what enables this differentiation on the basis of centrally managed information. Last but not least, contextualization is also an integral part of Product Experience Managements (PXM).
