In Time, in Budget, in Quality

This is something rarely experienced by a service provider. Manageable effort, a perfect match, and a contingent for implementation that was not exhausted were what characterized the introduction of ATAMYA Enterprise (formerly eggheads Suite) at STEINEL Normalien. In the implementation of a new software package, customers often fear high expenses for service provision, and budget overspends. Not with ATAMYA. The project approach and the unique coaching style of ATAMYA proved themselves also for our customer STEINEL Normalien.

Within a very short time, the STEINEL Normalien project team was able to actively, efficiently, and independently take over the implementation of the software. As a result, it was possible to reduce the originally planned project effort by about 50 percent. The ATAMYA configurable standard software and the transparent project approach are what makes it possible to implement ATAMYA projects in time and on budget.

STEINEL is an international system provider of punching and forming technology, and manufactures technical punching and forming products for high-end tool making. The company, founded about 70 years ago,produces and develops standard parts at its main site in Villingen-Schwenningen, and has established itself as a system partner in this sector. The medium-sized family Operation offers an extensive product range of about 25,000 products, whose Quality is guaranteed by the 150 employees at two production locations. The product range also includes gas pressure springs, tank plates, and machine components, such as thread-forming units and guide Elements for machine construction.

 

 

STEINEL places particular importance on the implementation of customized requirements as part of its ongoing ambitions. In an environment which is fluid and characterised by technological progress, it is essential to create synergies between the company’s various areas of activity. For this, all information needs to be located in a central location – ideally in a single system. In this way, success is achieved in accessing, administering, and delivering all company information to the various distribution channels, at the right time and place.

“All you need for tools” – This slogan describes STEINEL’s devotion to tools. Here, not only are manufacturing optimizations pursued, but also those relating to product marketing, in order to establish the Company successfully in the market. Particularly because of the ongoing changes in the market, the only option is to face up to them and to give customers the comfort factor which they require. STEINEL therefore decided to optimize all processes, to automate catalogue production, and to move away from the various systems used previously for the administration and maintenance of product information.

„ATAMYA convinced us with an intelligent and very flexible system, in which we easily found our way from the very start. Expert implementation support and goal-oriented approaches came on top of this. After a brief introduction, we were able to extend the data model ourselves, to import and export the data, and to undertake minor adjustments to the templates. It was even possible to learn the Generation of publications very quickly, with the result that we were able to operate the system completely on our own shortly after its installation. Anything that we could not do ourselves, such as creation of templates and initial generation in InDesign, was taken over expertly and reliably by ATAMYA. Through the implementation of ATAMYA, we have achieved what we had planned: to obtain an optimal overview of all product data, in order to extract data quickly and efficiently, and to eliminate unnecessary data maintenance. We are therefore now in a position to Transfer our quality requirements to our data as well.“
