When Success Sets New Requirements<\/p>\n

BLOCK has been developing transformers, power supplies, chokes, EMI filters, and electronic circuit breakers for well over eight decades \u2013 with passion, technological depth, and a fine nose for individualized solutions. Every year, more than 5,000 new products come to be, three quarters of which are custom-made. This diversity makes BLOCK one of the most cherished partners for sectors such as mechanical engineering, propulsion technology, electrical enclosure construction, railway technology, and solar technology.<\/p>\n

The company does not only stand for technological quality but also speed and customer proximity: With locations in Germany, the US, and China, as well as a global sales network, the company is well-represented internationally. Development, manufacturing, insulation, and examination \u2013 everything is carried out in-house within the parameters of their own production facilities. This manufacturing depth secures utmost flexibility and enables the implementation of customer requirements in an exact manner within the shortest time.<\/p>\n

It is precisely this diversity, however, that poses increasing challenges to the company: The management of product data requires growing effort, processes become more complex, and both translations and classifications become harder to scale. BLOCK has, consequently, made the decision to restructure its product communication from the ground up \u2013 with ATAMYA Product Cloud.<\/p>\n

The Challenge: Mastering Complexity Efficiently<\/p>\n

BLOCK develops customized products for the most diverse sectors \u2013 and they do so by offering an impressive range of technology. With progressing product diversity and increasing internationalization, however, the existing solution for product data management came to hit a wall: Neither the necessary structures nor the required multi-linguality could be handled any longer.<\/p>\n

The objective was clearly defined: A central, consistent data source for all systems and teams; standardized, flexible, and open for integrations. This is because, in order to stay permanently competitive, a solution is required that can keep up with the company\u2019s innovative prowess.<\/p>\n

An important milestone related to this: The integration of the existing PLM system PRO. FILE into ATAMYA Product Cloud. Product information from development is, hereby, smoothly transferred over \u2013 namely, without manual exports or redundant data records. Even the automatic generation of norm-conforming data sheets is part of today\u2019s standard process. Additionally, BLOCK has set up a central portal for sales: Globally upto-date and quality-proven product information is now digitally available around the clock thanks to this.
