It is precisely this diversity, however, that poses increasing challenges to the company: The management of product data requires growing effort, processes become more complex, and both translations and classifications become harder to scale. BLOCK has, consequently, made the decision to restructure its product communication from the ground up – with ATAMYA Product Cloud.
The Challenge: Mastering Complexity Efficiently
BLOCK develops customized products for the most diverse sectors – and they do so by offering an impressive range of technology. With progressing product diversity and increasing internationalization, however, the existing solution for product data management came to hit a wall: Neither the necessary structures nor the required multi-linguality could be handled any longer.
The objective was clearly defined: A central, consistent data source for all systems and teams; standardized, flexible, and open for integrations. This is because, in order to stay permanently competitive, a solution is required that can keep up with the company’s innovative prowess.
An important milestone related to this: The integration of the existing PLM system PRO. FILE into ATAMYA Product Cloud. Product information from development is, hereby, smoothly transferred over – namely, without manual exports or redundant data records. Even the automatic generation of norm-conforming data sheets is part of today’s standard process. Additionally, BLOCK has set up a central portal for sales: Globally upto-date and quality-proven product information is now digitally available around the clock thanks to this. This is a real advantage in consulting and customer communication.
